The Rev. Canon Dr. Duke Vipperman+ is Incumbent (pastor) of The Anglican Church of the Resurrection, Toronto, Ontario. In 2000,
The Rez launched into a form of church planting Duke calls "a reboot" in which members from one congregation are seeded into another and the two become one missional part of the body of Christ. He is also Chair (till September 2010) of the Archbishop's Fresh Expressions (Church Planting) Working Group, of the Diocese of Toronto (2006-2010) which considers, approves and advances the cause of church planting and alternative ways of doing church across the Diocese.
His Doctor of Ministry project (2007) from Trinity School for Ministry, Ambridge, Pa. was on Church Planting and planting Failures in Toronto 1990-2005. He was awarded a Master of Divinity from the same school in 1983.
He is an active member of Diocesan Council (2006-2009), the York-Scarborough Area Council (2004-present). Previously he was Associate Rector, Little Trinity Church, Toronto (1991-1999); Rector, Trivitt Memorial, Exeter & St. John;s By-the-Lake, Grand Bend (1986-1990); Assistant Curate, St George’s, London (1983-1986). He is also Vice-chair of Barnabas Anglican Ministries (anglican Evangelicals).
He is married to Deborah with three adult children: Donovan, John, and Michael. Duke plays guitar in worship at the Rez and also sitar at the Yeshu Satsang held at the Rez and the Yeshu Bhakti Sampradaya off-site
He is a also Companion of the Northumbria [dispersed monastic] Community (2010) and a member of “The Toronto Carrying Place” (2008-present) a local Northumbria Community group.
